You already know that living a healthy lifestyle comes with many benefits. You have more energy, more focus, and you just feel better overall. But let’s be honest — at some point, we all crave those delicious (and not-so-healthy) sweet treats we used to enjoy before we made the decision to prioritize our health.

For me, it’s all about the gooey goodness of chocolate lava cake! There’s nothing like digging into a warm, chocolatey cake and feeling the molten chocolate oozing out with each bite. But, of course, indulging in something like that isn’t exactly “health food.”

Or is it?

I was pleasantly surprised to find a recipe for a healthier version of chocolate lava cake that’s just as delicious as the original — but without all the guilt! This lava cake is made with gluten-free almond flour, coconut water, and our incredible Cacao Power mix that we add to our coffee each morning. You can get that recipe right here. But the best part about this health-filled version of lava cake? It only takes a few minutes to make, and you can make it in your favorite mug!

And trust me, it’s every bit as good as the real thing!

Cacao Power Cake in a Cup

  • 1 Tbsp Almond Flour
  • 2 Tbsp Honey
  • 1.5 Tbsp Cacao Power Mix
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1 Egg (lightly beaten)
  • 1/8-1/2 cup Coconut Water
  • Cacao Nibs

Mix all ingredients except for the cacao nibs in your favorite mug. Sprinkle cacao nibs on top (don’t mix in!) and microwave for 60 seconds. Enjoy!

Did you give this recipe a try? Let us know how it came out in the comments! I’m off to make another one since my “taste-tester” John walked off with mine!
